Emergencies
During practice hours
Please ring as soon as possible - preferably before 10:00am. Emergency appointments are usually arranged within 24 hours and possibly much sooner.
Out of hours
If you ring the the practice number out of hours, we will make arrangements for you to see a dentist if necessary within 24 hours. This may not be your regular dentist. If we have to re-open the practice, there may be a charge, and additionally you may have to pay the cost of any treatment. A friend or relative should be present at all times.
New Patients
If this is your first course of treatment, we would like to welcome you to the practice. We hope we have created a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere in which to treat you.
Children should be registered with a dentist as soon as possible. We have over five hundred children registered for routine care. We welcome children and our practices are reasonably childproof. If you bring your children with you when you have your routine examination, this is the best way to get them used to the practice.
Treatment
If you have just finished a course of treatment, please remember any instructions that you have been given, especially in relation to eating on new fillings and care of extractions. Do not hesitate to contact the practice if you have any queries or would like further advice. While we always do our best, we cannot guarantee that your treatment will be incident free - but our aim is your complete satisfaction.
Medication
To safeguard your general health, it is very important that we know about your medical treatment. Please bring details of any tablets you are taking, including the contraceptive pill. Any information you give about your general health is strictly confidential.
Appointments
Appointments can be made in person, or by telephone. If you cannot keep an appointment then you MUST give us sufficient notice to prevent failed appointment charges. The notice we normally require is one working day. We will help you to book appointments to minimise the number of times you have to attend.
Home visits
Treatment at home is available to patients with limited mobility, depending on the nature of treatment required. Not all treatments can be carried out in your home.
Quality
Your treatment is carried out to the highest standards, using modern materials and techniques. We use topical anaesthetic and rubber dam where possible, for your comfort and safety. Our clinical staff have a commitment to ongoing postgraduate education to keep them up to date and we regard constantly improving our skills as an important part of delivering a first class service. Our metal dentures, crowns and bridgework are carried out by laboratories that have achieved BS5750/ISO9002 and our metal denture castings are guaranteed by the manufacturers for five years.

Recall system
Your recall may be in the form of an invitation to call the practice, or a letter with an appointment. It is very important that you notify us if you are unable to attend a pre-booked appointment. Patients who fail to attend for check-up appointments are removed from the recall system until we find out why they did not attend.
How are we doing?
If you are unhappy with your treatment, please raise this immediately with the practice member concerned. Every member of staff has the responsibility to make sure you are fully satisfied with the service you receive. If you are still not satisfied, talk or write to the Senior Partner at the practice. Please try to do this as soon as possible following any incident to which you refer.
If you are happy with your treatment, pass the good news on to your friends and relatives. Husbands, wives, partners, friends, children and other family members are most welcome. Everyone needs a good dentist.
